Task 15: about me.

My real name is María Victoria Cerro Martín, but I prefer Vicky or Doll. I'm 16, but next month I'm 17. I've lived in Alpedrete since I was born. At first, I didn't like this village, but now I think it isn't so bad as I thought. I don't take care about it now because when I'll finish studying I'm going to move to another country, it's the better thing I can do.

My friends call me Doll because a long time ago, a friend said when I was dancing "you dance like a doll", we was playing a game of Play Station and we must follow the dancebut I just was moving my legs and I don't know, then they call me Doll and I like it.

Last year, I had a lot of important moments with people from Madrid and my favourite band, Tokio Hotel. They are the reason because I slept in the street for three days, however, they didn't come because the singer, Bill, was ill. But I met a lot of new people and the experience was wonderful, I can't explain it, like this moment I had a lot.

Now, I listen metal music. I love it. When I feel upset I hear it and I feel more relax.

It's everything I can say about my life. :)

Religion is a beautiful lie.

I agree that because I think that religion is something that one person invented in the past for control people, it's like a sect where someone say to you what you have to do, how you have to think and more.

In fact, I know that religion is a well help when you're in a bad moment, for example when someone who you loved has died.

In the past, I thought in religion but when my grandfather died I left to think in every thing that I can't see. It's a way to protect me of the pain.

I don't know, it's a strange topic that I don't like it because in English I can't say everything I'd say in Spanish, sorry.

Biography:

Henry Ford (July 30, 1863 – April 7, 1947) was the American founder of the Ford Motor Company and father of modern assembly lines used in mass production. His introduction of the Model T automobile revolutionized transportation and American industry. He was a prolific inventor and was awarded 161 U.S. patents. As owner of the Ford Company he became one of the richest and best-known people in the world. He is credited with "Fordism", that is, the mass production of large numbers of inexpensive automobiles using the assembly line, coupled with high wages for his workers. Ford had a global vision, with consumerism as the key to peace. Ford did not believe in accountants; he amassed one of the world's largest fortunes without ever having his company audited under his administration. Henry Ford's intense commitment to lowering costs resulted in many technical and business innovations, including a franchise system that put a dealership in every city in North America, and in major cities on six continents. Ford left most of his vast wealth to the Ford Foundation but arranged for his family to control the company permanently.

What did he do?

He invented the Model T was introduced on October 1, it was very simple to drive, and easy and cheap to repair. Then, the successful Ford Model A, introduced in December 1927 and produced through 1931.

Ford, like other automobile companies, entered the aviation business during World War I, building Liberty engines. Ford's most successful aircraft was the Ford 4AT Trimotor.

Then, Ford maintained an interest in auto racing from 1901 to 1913 and began his involvement in the sport as both a builder and a driver, later turning the wheel over to hired drivers. He entered stripped-down Model Ts in races.

Task 8.

I've chosen Monsoon, by Tokio Hotel. Why? Because I've been their fan since they've started their musical life. They came to Spain four times and I saw them three times. First on the MTV Day, later in "La Gala de los 40 Principales" and then, in the Rock In Rio, this year. The last time I saw them is the best moment in all my life. I was in first line, I waited more than six hours to see them. When their show started I just could scream and cry. Other time was in May. I'd slept in the street for four days to see them, but finally, they didn't do the concert because Bill was ill. They've been the first band of rock music in my life. Later, I've evolved, now I love listening metal and hardcore music.

The activities are funny, but I've already known this song. And the vocabulary... the same.

Monsoon speaks about love, it's beautiful, but they've got better songs.

Subway Hero.

Summary:

On Tuesday afternoon Autrey leaped down from a subway station platform after Cameron Hollopeter, 20, apparently suffered a seizure and fell between the tracks.

Autrey had to leave his two daughters, ages 4 and 6, on the platform. It was that, he said, or have the girls see a man run over by a subway train.

Down on the tracks, Autrey saw a train's headlights in the tunnel. He shoved the disoriented student into the only space where they had a chance to survive — the shallow, grimy drainage trough between the tracks.

The train passed over them, with about 2 inches' clearance. Autrey later showed reporters grease stains on his wool hat that he said came from the train's undercarriage.

My opinion:

In my opinion any person who loved sufficiently the life as this man would have done it. I know that not everybody would do it, but we can't be sure about it. We have never been in a similar situation. You can imaginate it, but it isn't the same thing that feel the fear when it's happening in front you.

Questions:

-How should the hero be rewarded?: I think that he shouldn't be rewarded because he makes it to save the life of a one people, not to be rewarded.

-Would you have acted in a similar way? Why?: Yes, because I can't be in a place while somebody is dieing and I'm seeing it. I think I could try to rescue him/her though I could die...

-Act of heroism: Liviu Librescu was 76 years old and had overcome a lot of time ago the age to retire, still he was giving lessons in the Technological University when on Monday the chaos arose in Norris Hall, the building of the campus where an armed man identified as 23-year-old Cho Seung-Hui, opened fire and killed 32 persons before committing suicide. The students described how Librescu used his body to block a door opposite to Cho in order that they could escape jumping over the window of the class, which one was finding in the second floor. Some of them broke the leg on having fallen down, but they survived. Librescu died shot during the assault.

Here are the questions about the Sex Pistols:

1)What songs have you heard?
In fact, I haven't heard them before I did homework about them. But I've known that they're an important band of punk music since I've start to listen to rock and other brands of music. I've heard "God Save The Queen".

2)Why were they important?
Because they were the first band that started to play punk music.

3)Do people still listen to the Sex Pistols?
Someone who like punk music maybe listen to them. I don't know exactly. I've got a friend who like punk music and listen to the Sex Pistols.

4)Have they any influence in the music that is made today?
Yes, they have. Because they were the first band who started with the punk music in London. After then other bands have made better the sound of the punk music.

5)Any anecdotes?
Yes, I've read that their tours and concert usually finished with disturbs. And that the song "God Save the Queen" is an offense at the crown and at the
British nationalism.

John Joseph Lydon.

Now I'm going to speak about John Joseph Lydon: (Born 31 January 1956 in London, England), also known as Johnny Rotten, is a British rock musician, best known as lead vocalist for the punk rock group Sex Pistols and post punk group Public Image Ltd. He grew up on a council estate in Finsbury Park, North London with three younger brothers. At the age of seven, he contracted spinal meningitis, putting him in and out of comas for half a year and erasing most of his memory. The disease left him with a permanent curve in his spine.

He's musician and singer-songwrites. Then I'll say that he plays vocals, stroh violin, saxophone, guitar, bass guitar, violin, synthesizer, keyboards and percussion.

Public Image Ltd. were an English musical group formed in 1978 by vocalist John Lydon, guitarist Keith Levene, and bassist Jah Wobble.

Sex Pistols.

I'm going to speak about the Sex Pistols: They're an English punk rock band that formed in London in 1975. The band originally comprised vocalist Johnny Rotten, guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock (replaced by Sid Vicious). Although their initial career lasted only three years and produced only four singles and one studio album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols, the Sex Pistols have been described by the BBC as "the definitive English punk rock band." The Sex Pistols emerged as a response to the "increasingly safe and bloated" progressive rock and manufactured pop music of the mid-1970s. At the end of their tour, Rotten left the band in January 1978. The remaining trio carried on with vocals Sid Vicious, but he died of a heroin overdose that February.
